Denis Miles: a remarkable contribution
Denis Miles, who has served the club for over thirty years, decided to
leave his bowler’s marker in the understairs cupboard in season 2002 due to
family commitments.
Denis's service to the club were commended at a special presentation in
1998.Virtually every year since 1978 when the club joined the league, Denis
featured highly in Slazenger League statistics for wickets taken and average
runs per wicket/over. Those who have known or played with Denis will join in
recognising a quality cricket practitioner and individual.
We hope that there may still yet be gaps in Denis’ retirement agenda
enough to prize him out for an occasional appearance. If so, it is not likely to
be a cameo one; Denis doesn't do them.
TWO LEGS PLEASE,UMPIRE!!!
