Awards Night
The end of season awards night is planned for Friday May 23rd at Tiger Tiger in Croydon. Price will be £20 per head, which includes entry, food and a few beers. If you want to come you need to pay in advance. Please send cheques payable to Steve Clancey to 15 Chipstead Close, Coulsdon, CR5 3AL.
Closed season football
Now that the season has closed, we are planning to keep football going during the closed season with regular midweek kickabouts at the club. Details will be announced shortly.
Football annual fees
Annual membership to the JFOB football section has been maintained at £75 for the 2007-08 season with match fees remaining at £5. Subs for under-21s are just £50. This means that 20 games per season will cost over-21s a total of just £175, which is excellent value and vital in maintaining the club's facilities, which are the envy of most clubs in the league, many of which don't even have their own ground, let alone a cheap bar.
The football section is budgeted to contribute £6,000 per year towards the running costs of the club. Add to that about £1,200 in referees' fees, £400 on hospitality and about £600 in affiliation fees and that totals £8,200. In order to raise this it requires 47 players to pay their £175 per season. With just four teams, it's easy to see how tight this budget is.
Any player who refuses to pay either their subs or their match fee is effectively robbing their teammates by forcing an increase in fees to cover the shortfall. So please make sure you're not the one letting everyone else down.
